Dear Like Minders,
What an awesome time we shared on Friday at the inaugural Like Minds. We had over 200 people present, over 500 watch online, and have had thousands of tweets on the Like Minds Twitter hash tag.
You can also checkout the photos on our Flickr page, and see what others have blogged about Like Minds on the ‘What others are saying‘ page.
We want to thank the speakers, sponsors, and supporters who made this possible – but first we want to start with thanking you. As I said on Friday, “I’m nobody” – it is each and every one of us together who are ‘like minds’, and together we have started a movement full of new thinking and fresh ideas.
Our thanks to our keynote speakers, Trey Pennington, Olivier Blanchard, Daren Forsyth and Maz Nadjm, who all delivered exceptional insight and have imparted great value. None of these speakers were paid for their time (and believe me, they earn *a lot* per hour), so we are grateful that they would take time out to come and be with us.
Thanks also go to our panelists: Andrew Davies, Vanessa Warwick, Laura Whitehead, James Barisic (thanks for the Kilt), Rick Waghorn, Carl Haggerty and Matt Waring. And special thanks to the unanimous best haircut and ‘Twitter scribe’ Nick Tadd.
It was our sponsors who believed in us and helped fund Like Minds. So, thank you Starbucks, Magners, thruSITES and Every’s. FYI, go here to check out the Photolegal podcast and the thruSITES’s much discussed ‘HSBC Reviews’.
Our local sponsors have become dear friends, and thanks go to Rokk Media, Bluegrass CS, Optix Solutions, Greenland Studio, Addiply, UKNetWeb, Business Link and One Alfred Place. Thanks to our tech sponsors Chinwag, for their promotion and Club Wi-Fi for keeping the internet going all day (that’s something not to be scoffed at!). Thanks to our media partner Business Cornwall for excellent online coverage.
If you need to take what you heard on Friday and begin applying it, then our sponsors in that area are the people to talk to: Rokk Media, Optix Solutions, Bluegrass CS and UKNetWeb.
Finally, big shout out to Markham Nolan for making the Social Media Guru video. Thanks.
Thank you all. See you before February.
